Does your non profit organization, church, PTA, scout group, block club or neighborhood organization have a vision for a project that can strengthen your section of Ward 8? Now’s your chance to apply for one of Akron’s Neighborhood Partnership grants for 2027. Every year each Ward has $15,000 for programs like park improvements, community gardens, youth programs, safety programs, food banks and more. Usually these end up being split into grants from $3,000- 5,000 each, but it all depends on the quality of your program and what else is submitted. All grant funds need to be spent by October of 2027and the city will reimburse the full amount you’re awarded.
Applications are open now until October 30th at Midnight. More info can be found here:
Last year, neighborhood partnership grants in Ward 8 were given to expand a local church’s food pantry out reach, a site design plan for Karona Park’s improvements, help with logistics for a 5K run to benefit Case Elementary School programs, and funds for spay/neutering clinic at One of a Kind Pets. One caveat, if you are not a non profit 501-C3, your group will need to partner with one to act as fiscal agent. If you need help finding a fiscal agent, reach out to me and I’ll try to help. I look forward to seeing the amazing ideas you come up with to move Ward 8 and Akron forward!
