First off some business, we’ll be taking a break from our monthly ward meetings in December. With Hanukkah here and Christmas about a week away, it’s a busy time for everyone, so we’ll pick back up on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. I wish you and your families a safe and joyful holiday season and a wonderful new year.

December always brings back Christmas memories for me, growing up in North Hill as a kid, and with my wife and our 2 children(now adults). I remember going downtown to see the window displays at O’Neil’s and Polsky’s, searching through the woods and cutting down our tree and wrestling it on the roof of our a car singing Christmas carols and more. Times have changed and our family is spread out, but the Holiday Spirit is still here in Akron,  and if you haven’t made it downtown  to the new Lock 3 Park, you really should stop by. There’s ice skating, ice bumper cars,  Archie the Snowman from Chapel Hill Mall, food hot chocolate and all sorts of things to do for everyone.

December is also the month Council wraps up and I was honored to be sworn in as your 8th Ward Councilman on December 1st. As I always say, it’s a privilege to be your councilman and I don’t take this lightly. We’ve got some tough decisions to make on council in the new year, and some good things coming our way too. I’ll do my best to represent all of Ward 8 and will be available to help in any way I can.  As always, if you need me, reach out over the holidays, I’ll be in town.

Happy Holidays!
