On August 4, the Great Streets Neighborhood Business District Grant program was announced for businesses in the 2 Great Street districts of Ward 8. Businesses in the Merriman Valley and Wallhaven area can apply for matching facade grants of up to $20,000, including doors, windows, signage improvements and more. Businesses with 5 or fewer employees can apply for the $5,000 Micro Enterprise Improvement grants that go to supporting general operations, and business development.
Overall there’s $400,000 available in 13 neighborhood business districts across the city, but applications need to be submitted by September 30th.(the sooner the better) I would love to see our locally owned Ward 8 businesses in both Wallhaven and the Valley take advantage of these programs.
