Our amazing Neighborhood Resource Officer, Ofc. Aaron Brown, alerted me today that Ward 8 has seen an increase in attempted thefts from motor vehicles in recent days. Specifically in the areas of Winston, Stabler, Ayers, Shatto, Wiltshire, and the 2000 block of W. Market St. Some of these attempts proved successful, with residents losing cash left in their vehicle.
APD is well aware of this and patrol cars are on alert.
Please be vigilant and remember these tips:
- Bring your personal belongings inside.
- Do not leave property visible inside your vehicle, your vehicle automatically becomes a target. Thieves like to window shop.
- Secure your vehicle...windows rolled all the way up, doors locked, garage closed.
