I really enjoyed these intermittent warm  days, yet dread the cold that seems to comes right after . Hopefully we’ve seen the last of snow or sleet as we move into a more permanent change in the weather. I mentioned in my March newsletter that Councilman at Large Jeff Fusco was retiring, so there will be a change on City Council. I’m one of five council members on the committee and I’ll go in more detail about this process in a full article under the Adminstrative header.

Driving in the Valley today I noticed that the BP Station  at Merriman and Portage Path is finally back open. It’s been a long road, repairing the sinkholes in the parking lot and in their building took longer than expected, but the pumps were open this morning and people were inside. It’s great to have them open again, so stop in and welcome them back.

As the weather breaks, there’s a lot more events on tap, starting with our Monthly Ward Meeting this Wednesday,  4/15, 6-7:30pm at Northwest Family Recreation Center. Attorney Lisa Dean, will give a presentation on family law, Brian Csonka with Summit County Department of Economic Development will outline their services and of course Officer Aaron Brown with APD.

On Saturday May 2,  it’s the 2nd Annual Donut Dash supporting the Women’s Auxiliary Board of Summit County Children’s Services. This  5 K run will take off from Hardesty Park at 10:30am, and  runners and walkers through the Castle Park neighborhood.  Register by April 17, details in this link.  https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Akron/DonutDashForSummitWAB
