Here’s some great news for Akron, and it involves bringing back 70 high paying jobs to downtown Akron. OK, it’s not Ward 8, but anytime we have back jobs to Akron, it increases our tax revenue, and will have ripple effects on other jobs downtown. Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs LLC, is one of the oldest law firms in the Akron area and they will be moving back to the AES Building in late fall of 2026. They had moved to Fairlawn a number of years ago and were once again looking for a new location. This move reflects the firm’s deep ties to region, and it’s commitment to Akron’s revitalization and will hopefully spur more businesses to move back downtown.
Buckingham was founded in 1913 and is now one of the largest law firms in the region. As they continue to grow, they needed more space and working with Akron’s Economic Development team, found the AES building to be a perfect fit for their new headquarters. The proximity to downtown restaurants, the Towpath Trail, County and City government offices, along with Akron’s investment in downtown help bring these jobs back. I look forward to having them back in Akron and expect to see more development and jobs coming our way in 2026.
