It is so nice to buds on trees, daffodils, and other flowers sprouting from the ground, and hopefully no more snow! Seems like this winter never ends and keeps hanging around every morning in April, but I’m looking forward to spring. I hope you are too.
There are a lot of good things coming up this spring, starting with Karona Park in Parkway Estates, where a new swingset was installed and soon the basketball court will be resurfaced. Karona Park has been overlooked for too long, and with the help of a neighborhood partnership grant we will be working with residents in planning for next year’s $125,000 improvements in the Capital Budget. We’ve got events going on throughout the city as we celebrate Akron’s Bi-Centennial, Akron’s new History Center has opened up next-door to the Civic Theater downtown, the Rubber Ducks season has started, and the Cavaliers are starting their playoff run. Akron is continuing to resurface roads, replace lead waterline services(more on this below) finalize the remote waters, with more projects to begin.
I will also be planning for 2026 and how I can bring more projects into Ward 8 making it a better place for all of us to live, work, raise a family. If you have ideas, please reach out to me by email or phone. I look forward to working together with each and every one of you as we move ward eight, and Akron ahead. As always, it’s a privilege to be your Councilman, and am always available to help.
